FPP Reveal Day AND 1st Day of Vegan MoFo!

Hello Friends!

   I'm super excited to be kicking off the month of October (ahem, the best month ever) with lots of juicy things!  First of all, remember how I mentioned here that I'm enrolled in Nutrition School?  Well, I took my final exam yesterday and ACED it!  Go me!  I've loved every minute of my course and I'm a little sad that it's over.  On the other hand, I'm excited to be able to spend more time spreading the nutrition love, so I guess it's all good.  Second, I get to reveal an awesome package from my lovely pen pal this month.  And third, I'll be revealing my theme (kind of) for my Vegan MoFo posts.  There's a lot to talk about, so let's get to it!

   First things first:  Foodie Pen Pals!
   This month I was lucky enough to receive a package from Lesley Raymond who writes a blog called By the Porchlight.  Check it out, she is so creative and a self-proclaimed pinterest addict!  I sent a package to Angie Barrington who has a lovely blog called Betty and Lil (her grandmothers) and writes about books, movies, and life.  FYI, Angie also shares the same name as my sister, but my sister would never let you call her Angie.

 Want to see what I got?

{Eek!  So excited to see what's inside...}
{I love all the little notes!}
{Salt and Pepper shakers}
I thing they're supposed to be little chicks, and if not, they'll always be little chicks to me!
This chocolate comes from Lesley's hometown of Moncton, New Brunswick - how cool?  And even though I really, really love chocolate - I'm saving this for a chocolate emergency!
{Smoothie Recipes}
What a great idea!  I'm so going to do this for a pen pal.  I haven't tried any of the recipes yet but when I get a chance I'm trying the Mojito Green Monster first!
{Sugar Chocolate Coffee Bean Grinder}
The first thing I thought of when I opened this was, "Damn!  I wish I took sugar in my coffee!"  I'm dying to use this but have no idea how just yet.
{Jumping Bean Coffee!}
I love coffee - we all know this.  So, it's safe to say that this was my favorite item in the entire package.  But what's interesting is that I had just used up the last of my coffee that morning!  I was about to buy some when this arrived in the mail.  Lesley - you are a mind reader!  This coffee is so delicious and happens be local as well.  I love it.
{All of my Goodies...  Thank you so much Lesley!}
The chocolate treat is safely tucked away in the cookie jar!

The Lean Green Bean

   Now time for some Vegan MoFo love!
   I had my first post all planned out and ready to go and then I realized that the Pen Pal's reveal fell on the same day.  I didn't want the two post competing for attention so the recipe I had planned for today will be posted tomorrow.  Does anyone else feel this way, too?  I've always hated the idea of posting more than once on the same day.  What if one post gets read more than the other?  I'd feel so bad for the post that gets less hits.  I know, I'm weird.  That's okay though.  Here's what I have in mind for this month, though:
   My plan is to have a Weekly Ingredient Theme where I use one main ingredient 4 or 5 different way and then post about it.  So this week my ingredient is Almond Milk.  Tomorrow I'll post my recipe for homemade almond milk and then throughout the week I'll show you what I made with it.
Here's a little peak...

Happy Monday everyone!
Ves xx
